Project Overview
This Reedley home had a small backyard that the family wasn't using much. They wanted a pool but didn't want to lose all their outdoor space. We designed a curved layout that fits the yard's shape naturally, giving them plenty of swimming room while keeping space open along the fence line for the kids and their dog to still run around.

The Challenge
The property had heavy clay soil that shifts with temperature changes, which can crack concrete and cause long-term structural problems if you don't account for it properly. The homeowners also had solar panels on the roof and wanted to make sure the pool equipment wouldn't interfere with their existing electrical setup. Space was tight for getting equipment into the backyard, so we had to coordinate delivery and excavation carefully to avoid tearing up their side yard or damaging the fence.
Our Solution
We excavated carefully to preserve the existing fence and minimize disruption to the neighbors. Our team installed a complete steel reinforcement grid before shooting the gunite shell in one continuous application to prevent weak spots. After the shell cured, we hand-troweled a vibrant blue plaster that gives the water that crystal-clear tropical look. The concrete deck was poured with expansion joints positioned to handle clay soil movement without cracking. We installed a Pentair variable-speed pump and cartridge filter system on a dedicated equipment pad, keeping it away from the house to reduce noise.
